SUPPORT FOR KEEP THE PRIDE
In Spring of 2021 we supported the Youth Advisory Board's request that the Warrior Logo be retire. We looked to address respecting Indigenous people and not supporting stereotyping by writing letters, attending meeting, and standing with other town organizations.
"There are no sports team mascots that do honor to our tribal identity and our history or that of other tribal identities or histories,"Â Melissa Ferretti,
a leader of the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe.

ONGOING COMMUNITYÂ EDUCATION
CONVERSATIONS ABOUT WHITENESS
Members of Wakefield Antiracism Group initially came from completing the Conversations About Whiteness course.

During five weekly two-hour sessions, we saw our whiteness in ways we never have before. We reflected on unconscious biases, white privilege, race, and racism. We'll explored some ways racial divides are embedded in institutions; thought about tools to interrupt these divides; brainstormed about collaborating with each other and with people of color;
and individually planned for what to do with this new knowledge.
